Journal Article 2026 02 05 This study examines Mulla Sadra’s reading of the so-called “Verses of Return” in the Quran, focusing on the verses “As He originated you, so you will return” (7:29) and “As We began the first creation, We will restore it” (21:104). The analysis demonstrates that Mulla Sadra interprets these verses, by relying on their linguistic and semantic components, as evidence for the theory of “Substantial Motion.” This philosophical reading is defensible within the coherent framework of his “Transcendent Theosophy,” yet it faces significant challenges, such as distancing from the apparent meaning and conventional context of the verses. The present article explains these critiques and provides cogent responses. A comparative review of Mulla Sadra’s works reveals that he does not offer a one-dimensional or exclusive interpretation; rather, his belief in “the esoteric depths of the Quran” leads him to assign diverse, multi-layered semantic functions to these verses. This reflects his simultaneous attention to both the apparent context and the profound interpretive dimensions of the Quran. Consequently, although exclusively limiting these verses to the theory of Substantial Motion—without adherence to the principles of Transcendent Theosophy—poses interpretative difficulties, this reading holds a distinct position within Mulla Sadra’s philosophical system as one of its profound, school-specific interpretations, highlighting the significant capacity of religious texts to engage with philosophy. این پژوهش به واکاوی خوانش صدرالمتألهین از آیات موسوم به «آیات عودت» در قرآن کریم، با تمرکز بر دو آیه «کَمَا بَدَأَکُمْ تَعُودُونَ» (اعراف: ۲۹) و «کَمَا بَدَأْنَا أَوَّلَ خَلْقٍ نُعِیدُهُ» (انبیاء: ۱۰۴) می‌پردازد. تحلیل بیانات صدرالمتألهین نشان می‌دهد که وی این آیات را با استناد به مؤلفه‌های زبانی و معنایی آنها، به مثابه گواهی بر نظریه «حدوث جسمانی نفس» تفسیر می‌کند.<br><br><br><br>این قرائت فلسفی، در چارچوب درونی و منسجم نظام «حکمت متعالیه» او قابل دفاع است، اما با چالش‌های جدی‌ای، همچون فاصله‌گیری از ظاهر و سیاق رایج آیات مواجه است. مقاله حاضر، این نقدها را تبیین کرده و پاسخ‌های درخوری ارائه می‌دهد. بررسی تطبیقی در آثار صدرالمتألهین، آشکار می‌سازد که وی برداشتی تک‌بعدی و انحصاری از آیات ارائه نداده، بلکه باور به «بطون قرآن» موجب گردیده برای این آیات کارکردهای معنایی متنوع و چندلایه‌ای قائل شود؛ امری که توجه همزمان وی به سیاق و ظاهر، و نیز عمق تأویلی قرآن را نشان می‌دهد.<br><br><br><br>در نتیجه می‌توان گفت هرچند حمل مطلق و انحصاری آیات یادشده بر نظریه حدوث جسمانی نفس، بدون التزام به مبانی حکمت متعالیه، با دشواری‌های تفسیری همراه است، اما این خوانش به‌عنوان یکی از تأویل‌های ژرف و درون‌مکتبی، در دستگاه فلسفی ملاصدرا از جایگاه ویژه‌ای برخوردار است و گواهی بر ظرفیت بالای متون دینی در گفت‌وگو با فلسفه است. https://philosophy.mofidu.ac.ir/article_738123_e5493ab1b8f5cc77aa31b94ff2a7a430.pdf
