Abstract
In this paper, I first briefly introduce the logic of identity and then explain the Frege's way out of a puzzle in identity through his famous sense-reference distinction. Secondly, by discussing the difference between proper names and definite descriptions, I argue for the existence of necessary a posteriori sentences. Thirdly, I mention a widely misunderstood view of Kripke and show the right way of approaching it. Also in this paper, for the first time, I document our Persian philosophers' awareness of some of the most important theses of Kripke on these subjects
