Abstract
Neutral monism is one of the latest theories in the philosophy of mind. Dualism theory has unsolvable problems regarding explaining the mind-body problem, as well as the monism theory such as materialism and idealism, which fail to explain entirety nature. In order to solve the mind-body problem, Russell proposes neutral monism, which posits that the foundation of the universe is a neutral entity, and mind and matter are formed from it by their specific causal laws. At one point, he considers neutral entities as emotions and perceptions, and at another, he calls them events and attempts to explain entire world based on events. Initially, the purpose of this research is to describe Russell's theory and then to criticize and evaluate it. Russell's explanations are incomplete and incompatible in many parts of his monism view. By rejecting the Substance, he couldn't provide a suitable explanation of the unity and identity of the things
