Abstract
Aristotle uses the concept of potential and actuality in analyzing movement in the natural world. He considers matter as the origin of potential and form as the criterion of actuality. Aristotle's view has been accepted by most Islamic philosophers and they have tried to consolidate and consolidate this theory. There are five general views on the nature of potential. Some have considered potential to be non-existent, some to be creditable, and some have considered it to be part of second intelligibles. Some have also considered potential as one of the analytical consequences of the prime matter, but most of the philosophers have introduced potential as an external accident and placed it under the category of quality or relation. According to the author, all the mentioned views are incomplete and not compatible with the ontological features of the potential. In this article, by explaining and criticizing these views, and in the light of some foundations of transcendental wisdom, we have achieved a new explanation of the truth of potential and its origin. The, potential, like actuality, is an existential matter and one of the analytical consequences of fluid existence. The fluid existence has stages of intensity and weakness, and each stage is considered actuality compared to the next stage and potential compared to the previous stage.
