وحدت مرد سیاسی و فیلسوف در اندیشه افلاطون

چکیده

خوانش‌های مختلفی از آثار و رساله‌های افلاطون و به ویژه نسبت آن‌ها با جمهور شده است. در این میان، رساله‌های مرد سیاسی و سوفسطایی از اهمیت خاصی برخوردار هستند. افلاطون در سوفسطایی می‌نویسد: «اگر فرصتی دست داد روزی دیگر فیلسوف را دقیق‌تر تماشا خواهیم کرد. اکنون بگذار به دنبال سوفسطایی بگردیم». این گزاره باعث شده که عده‌ای از شارحان افلاطون به دنبال اثر مفقود شدة وی در باب «فیلسوف» باشند. اما آیا این گزاره به راستی به معنای آن است که افلاطون قصد رساله‌ای مستقل با نام «فیلسوف» داشته است، به ویژه از آن جهت که او پیش از این، مرد سیاسی را تألیف کرده بود؟ در این پژوهش، ضمن تبیین آرای مختلف شارحان افلاطون در خصوص نسبت مرد سیاسی و سوفسطایی، به این نکته پرداخته می‌شود که امکان منطقی تألیف رساله‌ای مستقل به نام «فیلسوف»، در کنار (و پس از) تألیف مرد سیاسی و سوفیست، منتفی بوده است؛ چرا که افلاطون با تألیف این دو هم‌پرسه، «فیلسوف» را نیز تعریف و تألیف کرده است و مؤلفه‌های شخصیتی فیلسوف را به ویژه با عطف توجه به کارویژه سیاسی او، برشمرده است. در این مقاله، با توسل به منطق درونی اندیشه افلاطون، برای این ادعا از وجوه مختلف، استدلال شده است.

چکیده English

There have been different readings of Plato’s works and treatises, especially in relation to “Republic”. Among them, treatises of this statesman and sophist are of special importance. Plato, in “Sophist”, writes that he would have a sufficient inquiry on “Philosopher” in a near future. This statement has led some researchers to look for Plato’s lost book on the “philosopher”. Does the statement really mean that he had in mind to write the book “Philosopher” especially considering the fact that he had written the “Statesman” before this? This paper, by focusing on the different readings, studies the relationship between “Sophist” and “Statesman”, and claims that writing of an independent treatise by Plato, under the name of “Philosopher” was not what he intended to do. In fact, by writing “Sophist” and “Statesman” he had characterized “Philosopher” to his readers. All the characteristics of the “Philosopher” are available in the previous treatises. This article drawing on the internal logic of Plato’s thought, this claim has been investigated from different perspectives.
