چکیده
علم و اخلاق همیشه در نزد بشر منزلت ویژه ای داشته است. غالبا چنین انگاشته می شود که نقش آفرینان حوزه علم، یعنی دانشمندان، همواره در محدوده کار خود فقط به آنچه هست نظر دارند و نسبت به آنچه باید باشد دغدغه ای ندارند. این دیدگاه قهرا به تز بی طرفی علم نسبت به ارزشها می انجامد.
نویسنده مقاله حاضر تز دیگری را پیش می کشد که بر اساس آن مسائل ارزشی، بویژه مسائل اخلاقی با پژوهش علمی گره خورده است. کسانی که برای آراستن علم، سخن را به پیرایش آن از ارزشها می کسانند، در باره ماهیت پژوهش علمی به خطا رفته اند. نمی توان پژوهش علمی را بدون مواجهه با مسائل ارزشی و اخلاقی به انجام رساند. از این رو باید در فکر چاره ای برای این مسائل بود، نه این که آنها را نادیده گرفت یا به پنهان کردن آنها اقدام کرد. نمونه هایی از این مواجهه در مقاله حاضر گردآورده شده است.

چکیده [English]
Science and ethics have always had a special status. Usually it is imagined that the players in the field of the sciences, i.e., scientists, in their own area restrict themselves to what is, and with regard to what should be, they are indifferent. This view inevitably leads to the thesis of the neutrality of science with regard to values.
The author of this article offers another thesis. On the basis of his thesis, problems of value, especially moral problems, are tied to scientific research. One who would trim science of values in order to beautify it, falls into error with regard to the essence of scientific research. Scientific research cannot be done without attention to problems of ethics and values. Thus, a solution to this problem must be sought, rather than ignoring it, or keeping it hidden. Examples of this attention are presented in this article.
