چکیده

با افزایش روز افزون تنوع فرهنگی در جامعه­های غربی، بسیاری از فیلسوفان سیاسی به بررسی اهمیت فرهنگ و تفاوت‏های فرهنگی در عرصه سیاست پرداخته­اند. از این جمله است: چارلز تیلور فیلسوف جامعه­گرای کانادایی، که مقاله "سیاست به رسمیت شناختن ]تفاوت‏های فرهنگی[" (Taylor, 1992) و دفاع فلسفی وی از به رسمیت شناختنتفاوت‏های فرهنگی در عرصه سیاست توجه بیشتر صاحب­نظران این مبحث را برانگیخته است. با این حال، دیدگاه تیلور به سبب سیاسی کردن تمامی تفاوت‏های فرهنگی و القای این­که ضرورت اخلاقی به رسمیت شناختن فرهنگ­های متفاوت ناشی از ارزشمند تلقی شدن آن­هاست، قابل نقد است. دلیل­های او برای اثبات و نیز محدود ساختن ضرورت به رسمیت شناختن تفاوت‏های فرهنگی قابل خدشه است. افزون بر این، نظریه وی محدود به آن دسته از اقلیت­های فرهنگی است که از تمرکز جغرافیایی برخوردارند.

چکیده [English]

Given the increasing cultural diversity in the Western societies, many political philosophers have tried to study culture and cultural differences in the political arena. One example is Charles Taylor, the Canadian socialist philosopher, whose “Politics of Recognition” and philosophical argument for the recognition of cultural differences in the political arena attracted the attention of many commentators. However, Taylor can be criticized not only for politicizing all cultural differences but also for assuming that the moral necessity of recognizing different cultures arises from their being considered worthy. His argument to prove and limit the necessity of recognizing cultural differences are also untenable. Moreover, his account is confined to geographically concentrated cultural minorities
